Pencil sketch illustrations for the book Es lebe der Planet der Affen (Long live the planet of the apes).

The drawing prompt was: different types of apes with human accessories. I went searching for portrait photos of apes, in this case chimpanzees, of different ages and different gender. It was quite a lot of fun to explore the possibilities that the facial expression of the portrayed chimpanzees offered. They are close relatives to us after all and we have so much in common.
