Ever since I made this page for Hive 53 I had wanted to draw another picture of Castox as a child.

And because this has been a topic of debate among Wraith fans: There still is some confusion about how new Wraith come into the world, are they gestated like mammals? Or do they hatch fully grown from pods as we see in season 4 x 12, Spoils of War when Wraith Queen Laura is spawning drones? I go with the explanation that the Stargate: Atlantis Legacy novels offer: Little Wraith boys and girls are gestated the mammal-like way. This explains the Wraith children we get to know, Ellia (season 2 x 07, Instinct) and Alabaster’s little boy in the Legacy series. Drones hatch from pods, no sexual reproduction is involved. Their DNA is somewhat incomplete which explains their mental shortcomings. This cartoon is old; I drew it in a time when there was still confusion about Wraith reproduction therefore it’s a picture from Tox’s “hatch”-day which of course should now be his birthday.

Old piece originally published on deviantArt. I’m in the process of bringing these over here because I no longer upload content on dA and have put my gallery there in storage. In the next weeks these older pieces will appear here, mixed with newer stuff.
