After a very, very long hiatus, Hive 53 will make a return. Expect the first page of chapter 6 next Friday. Schedule: The upcoming updates of chapter 6 will not be weekly because I can’t manage that. Drawing time is too rare (and needs to be shared with commissions). I’m not quite sure where this may lead yet, and in what frequency I’ll be able to update the story. But! I have five pages ready to be posted on my harddrive. They’ve been resting there for weeks and weeks because I wasn’t sure how to proceed. At least I’ll have a couple of weeks buffer to proceed.

I admit, I was apprehensive to post them. Because there’s the very real risk that I may have to drop drawing new pages along the way. Which means leaving yet another unfinished webcomic on the internet. I always prided myself that I got the last chapter to an end, at least. I hate to drop projects in the middle and leave something unfinished that’s already published. It’s not only disappointing to the readers but also to myself. That said, this may also be my biggest chance of finishing this one. Because I hate loose ends. If I start posting these, I’ll will have to see it through, no matter how long it takes.

Also, since these first pages are already finished, it would be dumb to keep them forever hidden, especially since I’ve been frequently asked over the years if Hive 53 will ever have a comeback. I’m aware it will be difficult: I’m no longer active on deviantArt and most old Stargate-fans have wandered off to other fandoms because there was nothing new for years. The chances of repeating its old success are more than slim.

The first chapters were published at a time when Stargate: Atlantis was still on tv on its first airing. Therefore, the interest was huge. I never expected the success it had back then and the support I got was like a wave that carried me through the following chapters. The wraithy guys never really left my mind even when real life and stagnation brought the comic to an end. Sooo, expect something wraithy happening beginning next Friday!
